The Krewe of Argus has been rescheduled to parade alongside St. Patrick Metairie Road Parade. The approximately 3.6 mile route starts on 41st Street and Severn Avenue, proceeding south on Severn and turning left on Metairie Road. Founded in 1971, the St. Patrick's Parade of Metairie has been taking to the streets of Old Metairie for over the past fifty years, in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. With over 100 floats and trucks, bands, marching clubs, and all the vegetables you can get your hands on. The 2025 St. Patrick’s Day parade on Metairie Road promises to be a vibrant celebration, with a tentative lineup featuring an exciting mix of local favorites and new additions. Expect to see traditional Irish bands, elaborate floats, and energetic dance troupes creating a festive atmosphere. The St. Patrick’s Day Classic will begin at 8:30 a.m. outside Gennaro’s Bar on Metairie Road at N. Causeway Boulevard on Sunday, March 16. The 2-mile course will proceed down the parade route on Metairie Road finishing at Frisco Avenue, just before the train tracks and Winston’s Pub & Patio, where the post-race party will take place. The 2-mile course will proceed down the parade route on Metairie Road finishing at Frisco Avenue, just before the train tracks and Winston’s Pub & Patio, where the post-race party will take place. The St. Patrick's Day Parade will follow. Metairie Road from Severn Avenue to Focis Street will be closed to traffic starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday ahead of the St. Patrick’s Day Classic and parades.
